With the rapid development of economy, China's environmental problems caused by the emission of polluting gases and sewage are becoming increasingly prominent, and the calls for environmental improvement are also rising in the global scope. Faced with such a severe situation of environmental pollution and ecological environment deterioration, it is one of the most arduous tasks for national environmental protection workers to carry out a large number of real-time and accurate monitoring on environmental quality, current situation and change trend of ecological environment, and supervise and monitor pollution sources and their governance. There is an urgent need for a large number of modern environmental monitoring instruments. Driven by the national emphasis on environmental protection and a series of industrial policies, the domestic environmental monitoring instrument industry has a very broad prospect in 2012. In May 2011, the ministry of environmental protection issued the notice on carrying out > pilot monitoring of the urban environmental air quality evaluation method (trial), which selected one city in each of the 26 provinces to pilot new monitoring projects. The new content includes: PM2.5, carbon monoxide, ozone, lead, benzo pyrene (a carcinogen) and so on. On nov 1, China issued the environmental protection industry standard of "determination gravimetric method of environmental air PM10 and PM2.5", and began to standardize the determination of PM2.5. This means that more than 600 automatic air monitoring sub-stations in more than 330 cities at the prefectural level and above will be installed with relevant monitoring equipment as the monitoring of PM2.5 and other new indicators is rolled out.
